Alongside the launch of the Honor 7 came a new advert flaunting the capabilities of voice wakeup (Google Now, S Voice, Siri, Cortana …). The advert features a man who relies on his lover to achieve most day to day, mundane tasks. It is not until the end of the video that we discover that his lover was actually his phone being misperceived. This video has caused some interest, and not all of it good so far. With Android Pay coming up soon and Samsung Pay undergoing a U.S. Beta, it seems like mobile payments are picking up across all Android phones (except those without NFC). More stores are bound to adopt the standard, allowing your device to replace your wallet. Moreover, Samsung’s offering seems very solid as well (unless you are rooted). But while mobile payments are nice, they are unnecessary. Will they replace your wallet?
Press pictures have emerged of the Sony Xperia Z5, confirming the presence of a 23 MP rear camera. The pictures also showcase an “Xperia” engraving on the side frame of the device. Also worth noting is the presence of an additional port-like structure on the bottom of the device, in addition to what is assumed to be a standard micro-USB port.
Google has released a simulator for Android Auto called Desktop Head Unit. The new simulator will enable developers to test Android Auto apps in a production-like environment, without spending on expensive Auto head units. The simulator is two-fold, as the companion app runs on your phone while DHU runs on your workstation.
Youtuber How2Tech has posted a relatively easy DIY fix for removing a backward stuck S Pen in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The procedure uses a thin strip of stiff paper to ease off the hook and then remove the pen. In another video, the youtuber also showed that all S Pen related features were working after the DIY removal.
